ELSKOV was designed by K. Aage Nielsen and built by the renowned A Walsted’s Baadevaerft in Thurø, Denmark. She was launched in 1969 as the fourth TIOGA for Bradley Noyes of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Noyes’s father, Harry Noyes, initiated the TIOGA series with the 72’ L. Francis Herreshoff-designed ketch TIOGA OF BOSTON in 1939. That first TIOGA is now called TICONDEROGA, and is one of the most recognized classic yachts in the world. ELSKOV has a remarkable pedigree.
The fourth TIOGA became ELSKOV when Noyes sold her to his sister and brother in law, who cruised in her for more than twenty years before selling her to Finley Perry, who enjoyed his own remarkable 20-year tenure with her. He made several high-latitude voyages in ELSKOV, the most ambitious of which was a trip to the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard in 2003. With her spacious interior, large galley, two private cabins, and berths for seven, she was the perfect yacht for that adventure.
She is also the perfect yacht in which for you to explore the unrivaled cruising grounds of Maine’s Penobscot Bay—and its surrounding waters. This region of the Maine coast offers a variety of hiking, wildlife, dining, and cultural opportunities—as well as some of the best sailing on the planet.
